WotLK Classic Inscription Leveling Guide How To Get 1-450

Approximate Herbs Required for 1-450

Milling is an ability you get when you learn Inscription. Milling can be used to mill 5 herbs for 2 – 4 pigments, then you use the pigments to turn into inks.

You don’t need to mill the same herb over and over again. but make sure you select the right herb for the right pigment which is listed below

Learn Inscription Journeyman. (Requires level 10)

Multiple Glyphs and Scrolls at the same skill ranges

When you get to the glyph and scroll part of skilling up your inscription. There are a lot of glyphs and scrolls that use the same amount of materials needed to skill up. Just make sure you select an orange skill recipe that way you can make sure you get the right amount of levels when skilling inscription.

  • 80 – 100
    20x [Glyph of….] – 20 Midnight Ink, 20 Light ParchmentMake any Glyph that is orange to you. Glyphs turn yellow after 10 points here, then learn new recipes and choose another Glyph.
  • 100 – 105
    40x Lion’s Ink – 80 Golden PigmentMake any orange Glyph if you did not reach 105 by making these.
  • 105 – 125
    20x [Glyph of …] – 20 Lion’s Ink, 20 Common ParchmentMake any Glyph that is orange to you. Your aim should always be to make glyphs while they are orange. Glyphs turn yellow after 5 points, then learn new recipes and choose another Glyph.

125 – 200

Learn Inscription Expert. (Requires level 20)

  • 125 – 130Turn your Burnt Pigment into Dawnstar Ink. If you didn’t mill your own herbs and you don’t have Burnt Pigment, you can just make any Glyph that is orange to you.
  • 130 – 147
    17x [Glyph of …] – 17 Lion’s Ink, 17 Common ParchmentMake any Glyph that is orange to you. Glyphs turn yellow after 5 and 10 points here, so you have to keep learnning new ones.
  • 155 – 195
    40x [Glyph of …] – 40 Jadefire Ink, 40 Common ParchmentMake orange Glyphs. You have to keep learning new ones every 5 points.

    Turn all your Indigo Pigment into Royal Ink at 175 if you have any.

  • 195 – 200
    7x [Glyph of …] – 7 Jadefire Ink, 7 Common ParchmentMake any Glyph that is YELLOW to you. There won’t be any orange Glyps for this part.

    Make as many Arcane Tarot as you can if you made Royal Ink in the previous step.

200 – 290

Learn Inscription Artisan. (Requires level 35)

  • 205 – 245
    40x [Glyph of …] – 40 Celestial Ink, 40 Heavy ParchmentMake Glyphs until they turn yellow, then learn new ones.

    Turn all your Ruby Pigment into Fiery Ink at 225.

  • 245- 250
    5x Weapon Vellum II – 5, Fiery Ink, 5 Celestial Ink, 10 Heavy ParchmentMake any Glyph that is yellow to you if you didn’t make Fiery Ink in the previous step or if you don’t have 5 of them.
  • 250-255
    20-35x Shimmering Ink – 40-70 Silvery PigmentIf you mill your herbs, you will probably need fewer Inks because you will make a few Ink of the Sky from your rare pigments between 275 – 295.
  • 260 – 275
    15x [Glyph of …] – 30 Shimmering Ink, 30 Heavy ParchmentMake Glyphs until they turn yellow, then learn new ones.
  • 275 – 290
    15x Ink of the Sky – 15 Sapphire PigmentYou have to make more orange Glyphs if you didn’t mill your herbs or if you don’t have 15 Sapphire Pigments.

Master Inscription

Visit a trainer at Outland and learn Master Inscription.  (Requires level 50)

You can also visit the Northrend trainers if your level is high enough.

    Snowfall Ink – Icy PigmentUse all the rare pigments available. Keep the extra Snowfall Ink for Northrend Inscription Research. You will need to research to learn most “Northrend” glyphs.
  • 380 – 385
    7x Glyph of Focus – 7 Ink of the Sea, 7 Resilient Parchment
  • 386 – 400
    25x [Any Discovered Major Glyph] – 25 Ink of the Sea, 25 Resilient Parchment
  • 430 – 450
    The best strategy is to stop leveling Inscription at about skill 430 and simply conduct regular Northrend Inscription Research.
